São direitos e deveres dos passageiros:

I – receber serviço adequado;
II – receber, da ANTT e da transportadora, informações para defesa de interesses individuais ou coletivos;
III – obter e utilizar o serviço com liberdade de escolha;
IV – levar ao conhecimento do órgão de fiscalização as irregularidades de que tenha conhecimento, referentes ao serviço delegado;
V – zelar pela conservação dos bens e equipamentos por meio dos quais lhes são prestados os serviços;
VI – ser transportado com pontualidade, segurança, higiene e conforto, do início ao término da viagem;
VII – ter garantida sua poltrona no ônibus, nas condições especificadas no bilhete de passagem;
VIII – ser atendido com urbanidade pelos prepostos da transportadora e pelos agentes de fiscalização;
IX – ser auxiliado no embarque e desembarque, em se tratando de crianças, pessoas idosas ou com dificuldades de locomoção;
X – receber da transportadora informações acerca das características dos serviços, tais como horários, tempo de viagem, localidades atendidas, preço de passagem e outras relacionadas com os serviços;
XI – transportar, gratuitamente, bagagem no bagageiro observada os limites de peso total de trinta quilogramas, de volume máximo de trezentos decímetros cúbicos e de maior dimensão de um metro, bem como volume no porta-embrulhos limitado a cinco quilogramas e dimensões compatíveis;
XII – receber os comprovantes dos volumes transportados no bagageiro;
XIII – ser indenizado por extravio ou dano da bagagem transportada no bagageiro;
XIV – receber a diferença do preço da passagem, quando a viagem se faça, total ou parcialmente, em ônibus de características inferiores às daquele contratado;
XV – receber, às expensas da transportadora, enquanto perdurar a situação, alimentação e pousada, nos casos de venda de mais de um bilhete de passagem para a mesma poltrona, ou interrupção ou retardamento da viagem, quando tais fatos forem imputados à transportadora;
XVI – receber da transportadora, em caso de acidente, imediata e adequada assistência;
XVII – transportar, sem pagamento, crianças de até seis anos incompletos, desde que não ocupem poltronas, observadas as disposições legais e regulamentares aplicáveis ao transporte de menores;
XVIII – efetuar a compra de passagem com data de utilização em aberto, sujeita a reajuste de preço se não utilizada dentro de um ano da data da emissão;
XIX – receber a importância paga, no caso de desistência da viagem, hipótese em que o transportador terá o direito de reter até cinco por cento da importância a ser restituída ao passageiro, ou revalidar o bilhete de passagem para outro dia ou horário, desde que, em ambos os casos, se manifeste com antecedência mínima de três horas em relação ao horário de partida;
XX – estar garantido pelo Seguro de Responsabilidade Civil contratado pela transportadora, sem prejuízo da cobertura do seguro obrigatório de danos pessoais (DPVAT).

  • Professional ID card (original, with picture, issued by CRM – Doctor, OAB – Lawyer, CREA – Engineer, Judiciary Power – Judge, Sponsor and Public Defensor among others);
  • Birth certificate or marriage (original or certified copy).
  • In case of document losing or theft it must be presented the B.O. (Police Report) issued by police authority with until 20 (twenty) days of issuing (original or certified copy).

The transport is for free for trips of kids of six (06) incomplete years old, only if the minor is accompanied by their legal representatives and don’t take a place on the seats.

In bus’ trips within the national territory, the minor, of age until 12 years old, only can travel in the company of the minor’s legal representatives (that is at least a 3rd degree relative to the kid and it should be proved through original documents). To travel alone, the 12 year-old minor needs a judicial authorization, original, issued by a Children and Juvenile’s Court office.

Teenagers above 12 (twelve) years old can travel without company, as long as they present an original identification document (ID or Work Permit).

In cities of the same metropolitan region, it is not needed any authorization of Children and Juvenile’s Court.

  • Arrive to the terminal for boarding with, at least, thirty (30) minutes before the bus departure’s hour, with original ID in hand (see in Valid documents for boarding), besides identification file properly filled in the ticket;
  • Check the platform number and anticipated hour of the trip on the ticket;
  • In case of luggage, walk to the carrier, in advance, to label and store your belongings.

During disembark, we advise that passengers check if they didn’t forget anything inside the bus and that, if the luggage disappears, that they tell the bus company immediately, so they can take the proper providences.

To obtain the benefit of free bus transportation, the elder should attend in person the bus company counter with the required documents (bellow).

In interstate trips – In interstate trips – According to the Senior Citizen’s Statute (Estatuto do Idoso) (Law n 10.741/2003/Decreet n 5.934/2006/Resolution ANTT n 1.692/2006), regular service provider company of interstate bus transport should save seats to the senior. Information about this benefit should be obtained with ANTT – Agência Nacional de Transportes Terrestres, through the link http://www.antt.gov.br/html/objects/_downloadblob.php?cod_blob=18168.

In intermunicipal trips – According to the decree of N 811/2007, of Departamento de Transportes Rodoviários do Estado do Rio de Janeiro – DETRO/Rio de Janeiro, senior people, above 65 years old, will have free intermunicipal trips. People with special needs, proving that are underprivileged, have the right to free tickets for seats in interstate transport of standard category. To use that benefit it is necessary the acquisition of Passe Livre by the Ministério dos Transportes.

To transport your pet, check the following requirements:

Dogs and cats:

The owner should present the “Atestado Sanitário para o Trânsito de Cães e Gatos” [Health Certificate for Dogs and Cats Transportation], issued by a veterinary properly registered in the Veterinary Medical Regional Council (Conselho Regional de Medicina Veterinária) of the animal’s origin State.

Animals with age above 90 days should have still documentation of rabies vaccination, with date above 30 days before boarding and below an year (according to ANVISA determination).

Other animals (pets):

The owner should present the GTA (Animal Transportation Guide), provided by the Ministério da Agricultura and its authorized offices, and health certificate and vaccination up to date, provided by responsible veterinary.

In case of animal’s boarding that include international transfers, the animal should have the International Zoo-Health Certificate (CZI), valid for eight days.

Wild Animals:

Besides the GTA (Animal Transportation Guide) and the health certificate and up to date vaccination, it should be presented by the owner the transport authorization issued by IBAMA.

Notes:

  • All animals should be put (and kept like that through the whole trip) in cage or suitable kennel and specially made for animal transportation (regard the dimensions demanded for each animal);
  • The animal can’t be transported in a way that, eventually, causes discomfort;
  • If the animal uses the seat, buy that seat for the trip.

For the transport of luggage in the luggage rack the limits of weight and dimension should be checked according to the resolution N 1432 of April 26, 2006 of ANTT (http://appweb2.antt.gov.br/resolucoes/02000/resolucao1432_2006.htm).

In the luggage rack: the limit is of 30 kg (objects of personal use) and the volume should not surpass 300 cubic decimeters (0,3 cubic meters). The highest dimension allowed is of 1 meter.

In the packages storage: the limit is up to 5 kg, with dimensions that adapt to the packages storage, as long as it doesn’t compromise the comfort and safety of the other passengers.

If the limits above are exceeded, the company will charge for the luggage excess. In this case, look directly for the bus company to check the extra charge for the transport.

In case of theft luggage or missing objects inside the bus, call the bus company relation central.

The returning or exchanging, just like re-scheduling tickets should follow what the surveillance agency, the ANTT following the decision of number 4282 of February 17 of 2014. For more information acess http://www.antt.gov.br/index.php/content/view/29954/Resolucao_n__4282.html.

Know the rules to cancel tickets

  • Interstate  (trips outside the state):
    Up to 3h before your current ticket’s boarding hour, one can ask to cancel and be refunded of the paid value, withholding a 5% fine. After this term, one can’t ask it to be refunded or canceled.
  • Intermunicipal (trips inside the state):
    Up to 3h before one’s current ticket’s boarding hour, one may ask to cancel it and be refunded of the paid value, withholding a 5% fine. After this term, one can’t ask it to be refunded or canceled.

To exchange tickets

  • Interstate (trips outside the state):
    Up to 3h before the departure hours, the passenger can perform the Exchange without cost (only with restitution or charging the difference) in call center and bus’s company agencies. After this term, the exchange will only be allowed in the company’s counters, for the same line, section and direction with the cost of a 20% tax of the fee’s value.
  • Intermunicipal (trips inside the state):
    Up to 1h before the departure hour, the passenger can make the Exchange without cost (only with the restitution or charge of the difference) in the company’s agencies. If the client doesn’t inform to the bus company the intention of changing the ticket until the boarding period, the ticket is invalid after the departure.
